Christian Worship Supplement
Corrections to the Electronic Edition are available through Northwestern Publishing House.
Lectionary, Year C
Page 82: the Genesis and Hebrews readings for Pentecost 5C are correctly listed, but should be in italics since they are supplemental to the Three Year Series.
CW 736
The notes say, in part, “Unfortunately, Gerhardt’s hymn never made it into any English-language hymnals in America” (page 125, CWS Accompaniment edition). But this did appear as “Ye Baptized People, One and All,” in the American Lutheran Hymnal (1930).
Planning Christian Worship Revision – This series includes CW and CWS lectionary items. The revised PCW includes fresh summaries of Christian Worship’s lectionary readings (not merely a reprint of the earlier version), supplemental lectionary summaries, and both CW and CWS hymn suggestions.
Accompaniment Edition Notes on Hymns – These notes include information on the hymns (poets, composers) and suggestions for singing and playing them.
Some notes may be useful for inclusion in worship folders. Some are interesting for musicians and choirs.
Psalm Index: Christian Worship: Supplement, Occasional Services, New Service Settings (also found under General Service Resources)
Divine Service II Hymn Tune List – For creative or seasonal flexibility, the canticle texts for Divine Service II are designed to fit a number of different tunes.
Advent Series: Wait for Jesus / “My Soul in Stillness Waits”
Christian Worship: Supplement is included in the new “rebuilt” Hymnsoft.

The three-word title of this series, “Sermons in Song”, speaks volumes about what worship is. Selected hymns from the supplement are divided for study into four categories: Season, Savior, Sacrament, and Saints. “Sermons in Song” is a Bible class series prepared by Pastor John Koelpin.
The files are posted in PDF and as Word documents, so that changes can be made to fit individual congregations’ needs.
Both student handouts and leader’s guides are available.
The lectionaries in Christian Worship and Christian Worship: Supplement are now available for pastors who used the “Lectionary Viewer” in the Libronix Digital Library System, Windows version. Run “Libronix Update” and if you have the viewer, the files will be accessible to you. Contact Logos Technical Support at (800) 875-6467 or [email protected] if you have trouble.
Mac users who do not use Libronix may find value in an Accordance application provided by Pastor Steve Bauer. If you have questions, please go to www.accordancefiles1.com/exchange/.
Free downloads of CW: Supplement songs. The entire CW: Supplement CD is available through Northwestern Publishing House.
